2024-2025 Faculty of Health Student-Focused Roundtable, Tuesday, November 5, 2024
The Faculty of Health (HH) Associate Dean for Students, Mazen J. Hamadeh, invites interested current and former HH students, alum and fellows to attend the upcoming virtual HH Student-Focused Roundtable on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 @ 7:00-8:00 pm.

a. Breakout Room 1. What are your academic needs, support gaps and extra-curricular challenges? (Feel free to consult with the Faculty of Health Strategic Plan 2023-2028)
b. Breakout Room 2. "Faculty of Health Student Caucus (FHSC) consultation about Neuroscience student club and referenedum for dues to support FHSC events.
c. Breakout Room 3. Listening Circle - Topic to be decided by attendees. Maximum attendees of 7.
d. Breakout Room 4. Developing a student caucus focusing on DEDI in the Faculty of Health.

Objectives:
A. To consult all HH students and alumni on matters related to student transition, student experience, student success, and student engagement in the Faculty of Health at York University.
B. To be at the forefront of trends in the workplace so that the Faculty of Health may adopt and incorporate these trends within student transition and orientation, student leadership training, student support programming, and student career exploration to prepare HH students for a life of success.
Membership and format:
The HH Student-Focused Roundtable will include undergraduate and graduate students, recent graduates and established alumni, from all five (5) HH Academic Units.
The Roundtable will meet approximately two (2) to three (3) times per year. Roundtable Partners have the option to attend at will.
Who is eligible? All HH undergraduate and graduate students, and all HH alumni.
Experience: No prior experience is necessary.
Expectations from students and alumni: It is expected that those contributing to the discussions at the Roundtable share their experiences, expectations and plans in an open forum, in a safe space. All contributors to the Roundtable are considered equal
partners in its success. Roundtable Partners can attend and/or contribute to any number of the Roundtable conversations/conferences.
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI): HH students and alum from all backgrounds are welcome. Actually, the more diverse the Roundtable Partners are, the more effective the Roundtable will be. We welcome and encourage bold thinking and diverse ideas. Students and alum from the following diverse groups are encouraged to join: transfer, mature, first generation, part-time, International, Indigenous, LGBTQ+, racialized, people with different abilities/capabilities, etc.. Centre for Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion)
HH Priorities and CCSC Strategic Plan: This initiative meets HH's piorities and CCSC's
Strategic Plan, as well as York U's
University Academic Plan.
Meeting format: Until further notice, all meetings will take place virtually via Zoom.
