BOLD IDEAS!: "Lost in science translation" - April 1, 2020

CALUMET AND STONG COLLEGES invite you to attend BOLD IDEAS!:

Bold Ideas serves as a platform for citizens, activists and leaders to share their personal, career and life experiences and challenges with the community, and how they negotiated their life paths around these challenges. Non-conformists are welcome.

We believe in the power of ideas, actions and experiences. We believe that humans are catalysts for a better world. We believe each experience is unique and can elevate the consciousness of others.

Bold Ideas is where the ordinary becomes extraordinary. It is where extraordinary people share extraordinary ideas that challenge our perspectives of what is possible, what is not possible and what is certain.

Please join us at our upcoming Bold Ideas session:

Session Summary: With the everchanging healthcare landscape, the relationship between the professional and patient has become a frequent subject of debate. Despite the multitude of knowledgeable professionals, it seems that establishing good rapport and a positive therapeutic relationship with the patient has proven to be very difficult. In the following presentation Sanjeef and Elnaz question whether these behaviours need to be focused on in professional school and how in the age of empowerment and much-needed human support, not only should an individual’s knowledge be tested, but also their character and behaviour. Please join us as we debate on the benefits and repercussions of changing how future healthcare professionals are evaluated and how this system can be applied to graduate students as well.
